Collection week 4th – 8th April 2022
Dear Parents and Carers,
Demand for food banks has increased exponentially over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Trussell Trust, one of the UK’s largest food bank charities, reported that in 2020/21 they provided over 2.5 million three-day emergency food supplies and support to people in the UK; with over 980,000 of those supplies going to children.
To support our local community, over the Easter break we are taking part a collection of food, toiletries and clothes. All items collected will then be delivered to Storehouse, our local food bank in Trowbridge.
We are organising both a food bank and clothes bank appeal running from Monday 4th April to Friday 8th April. We are asking for each of our families to donate an item to support to the appeal if possible. To best support our community, we have spoken with Storehouse, and have confirmed that the below items are most in need at the moment:
While these items are in high demand, any and all donations will be greatly appreciated and make a big difference to a family in Trowbridge. We do ask that any items are not fresh, frozen or dairy and are well within their use by date.
A drop off point has also been set up in Reception if you have larger collections – we will gratefully receive black bags if you are having a clear out. Students may also leave donations in their tutor rooms.
Thank you so much for your support.
