I've worked in schools for 26 years now and still think teaching is the best job in the world! After teaching English for a few years, I became a SENCO and was eventually lucky enough to become a Headteacher. I am also currently the Director of Secondary Education for the Acorn Trust, a role that allows me to visit other schools, learn from best practice, and bring great ideas back to Clarendon.

Growing up north of the border in Glasgow, it rained so much that I spent much of my childhood sheltering indoors reading, listening to music and glued to the TV - habits I still enjoy! These days, however, I also enjoy exploring the beautiful West Country - I love Wiltshire and think it's a very magical place with its stone circles, chalk hill figures and historic buildings.

Outside of work, I am a mum and step mum, and my children were born and raised in Trowbridge, a town I love and very much consider home. Parenting teenagers has given me a very real understanding of the ups and downs families experience - challenging, rewarding, and sometimes exhausting! Every single day I strive to help make Clarendon a school where all our young people are supported and challenged to become the very best version of themselves.

My role in the school is related to staffing. Clarendon has over one hundred staff working here and my job is to make sure all of our staffing systems work and to be constantly planning for the future. I also work to support other schools within Acorn Education Trust with school data and primary Mathematics.

My role is to ensure that behaviour and expectations are upheld by all students, and classrooms are calm, and disruption free. I support students in helping them to make better behaviour choices, to achieve the very best they can, upholding the schools core values of respect, determination and excellence, through positive behaviour choices.

Clarendon Academy is a kind and supportive school at the heart of the Trowbridge community and we will take great care of your children.

We will do this by basing everything we do around our mission statement: Aspire to Excellence

To achieve our mission statement, we ensure that our 3 school values are at the core of all we do:

1) respect: being kind and caring for ourselves and others

2) determination: working hard and never giving up

3) excellence: ensuring everything we do is our best work

We can all achieve excellence if we live by those 3 simple values.

My role in the school is to manage the collection of student data to monitor their progress they are making in their learning, to look at this data to see where students need support and direction and report this information to parents.

I also run the school rewards and values system, where points earned by students showing Respect, determination and excellence are turned into prizes and badges. I am also Acorn Director of Science, overseeing student's learning in Science across the secondary schools in the trust.
