Sponsored Walk Success!

On Friday 18th September, our students, alongside pupils from local primary schools, took part in an incredible 9.6 mile sponsored walk through the beautiful surrounding countryside. It was a day of tired legs, and sore feet, but above all, it was a day filled with smiles, laughter, friendship, and an overwhelming sense of achievement.

From the moment they set off, our students demonstrated remarkable determination. Many shared afterwards that they had never walked such a distance before, yet they tackled every mile with resilience, positivity, and a fantastic attitude. As the miles increased and the blisters began to appear, their perseverance never wavered, and staff were incredibly proud of the grit and spirit they showed throughout the day.

One of the highlights for many was the ice cream van waiting at the halfway point, providing a well-earned treat and a welcome boost of energy. However, for our staff, the greatest highlight was watching our students support one another, show kindness and encouragement, and represent the school so positively. Their respectful and considerate behaviour throughout the walk was a real credit to themselves, their families, and our school community.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the families and friends who have sponsored our students. Thanks to your incredible generosity, we have already raised over £1,000, which is a fantastic achievement. Sponsor money should be handed in to Resources by Wednesday 30th September so that we can finalise the total and begin putting these valuable funds to good use.

The money raised will help support our rewards programme, ensuring that students continue to be recognised and celebrated for their hard work, achievements, and commitment.

As we reflect on the day, we are bursting with pride. Our students were shining examples of everything we value as a school, and the walk perfectly showcased our core values of Respect, Determination and Excellence. Through their perseverance, conduct, enthusiasm, and support for one another, every student who took part made us proud.
