Head of School Update - Change of School Day

We are writing to you to let you know that from Tuesday 2nd November we are making an alteration to timings within the school day. From this point onwards students will have tutor time at 10:45am, after period 2. The start and finish time of school remains unchanged.
- Period 1 8:45-9:45am
- Period 2 9:45-10:45am
- Tutor Time 10:45-11:05am
- Break Time 11:05-11:25am
- Period 3 11:25-12:25pm
- Period 4 12:25-13:25pm
- Lunch Time 13:25-14:00pm
- Period 5 14:00-15:00pm (14:55pm finish for Year 7 students)
Therefore students need to be in the correct line-up area for their period 1 lesson at 8:45am, ready to be collected by their teacher. Lateness to school has a significant negative impact on students’ learning and we ask that you do all you can to ensure students are in school in advance of 8:45am. Lateness to school is monitored closely with detentions issued to those students who are repeatedly late.
As you may also be aware, we have had a recent drive on ensuring that students are on time to lessons throughout the whole day, with sanctions being applied to those students who are avoidably late. This will continue.
Concerns over lateness only apply to a very small minority of students and we thank students and families for ensuring students are on-time for the start of the school day and for each lesson.
