152 students from our Year 10 and Year 11 community experienced live theatre in Southampton, watching ‘An Inspector Calls’. For many of our students, it was their first trip at secondary school and their first time in a theatre.

The performance of ‘An Inspector Calls’ is one of the four key texts for GCSE English Literature and this was the best revision for the students. Stephen Daldry’s version of the Priestley classic was thrilling; the staging enhanced the students understanding of the key themes in the play.

The students were a credit to Clarendon. Their brilliant behaviour was commented on by the theatre staff and members of the public. Along with all the students, the teachers thoroughly enjoyed their evening.
