Sponsored Walk Oct 2022

Last Friday, 480 Clarendon students from Years 8, 9, 12 and 13 took part in a 9 mile sponsored walk around the local countryside.

The staff who took part in the day were really impressed by the determination our students displayed on the day of the walk. Lots of them told us afterwards that they’d never walked so far! Despite the blisters and muddy ankles, it was a pleasure to see so many of them leaving the school site at the end of the day with huge smiles on their faces.

There were lots of highlights throughout the day, but we know that the ice-cream van at the half-way point gave a much needed sugar boost to many of the participants. For the teachers, however, the highlight was the wonderful conduct of our students. They were models of respect.

We are also very grateful to the families ands friends of our students who have sponsored them for taking part in the walk. The money is still coming in, but when we have a final total, we will be certain to share it with you. The money we have raised will be used to help fund our rewards system, ensuring our students get the recognition they deserve for all the hard work they do.

Altogether, the students who took part were models of excellence, and we could not be prouder of them.
