We are delighted with the results received by our Year 13 students today. After two years of challenges and uncertainty caused by the pandemic, we are very proud of our students’ achievements and how they have exemplified the three core values of our school: respect, determination, and excellence. A large number of our students have secured their first-choice places at university and several others are now taking up apprenticeships in the local area.

Three top-performing students deserve particular mention for their achievements:

  • Alex Bryant, our Head Girl, who achieved an A* in Biology, an A* in Psychology, and a Distinction* in Sport. Alex is now heading to the University of Loughborough to study Sport and Exercise Science.
  • Selina Hansen, who achieved an A* in Geography, an A* in English Literature, and an A in Biology. Selina is now heading to Cardiff University to study Biological Sciences.
  • Conner Runyeard-Hunt, who achieved an A in English Literature, an A in History, and a Distinction* in Creative iMedia. Conner is now taking some time to find his true passion in life, but hopes to travel the world and enjoy himself!

As an inclusive Sixth Form, however, we celebrate the successes of all our students: Another student who deserves a special mention is Charlotte Mitchell. Charlotte achieved a C in Mathematics, a C in Psychology, and a D in Physics. This has secured her place on an Electrical and Electronic Engineering Foundation Degree at Manchester Metropolitan University. Furthermore, Sydney Baxendale, who achieved a D in Sociology and a double Distinction in Health and Social Care, will now go on to study Primary Education at Brighton University. Both young women faced exceptional personal challenges during their time in Sixth Form, but have overcome them to achieve great career pathways and to prove themselves as role models.

We look forward to keeping in touch with all of our students and hearing about the many adventures they will have in the future. Well done, Class of 2022!
