Dear Parent/Carer

I would like to inform you that we as a House are collecting food donations for our local foodbanks. It is a seasonally difficult time of the year for many and demand on local foodbanks are sadly worsening. The Trussel Trust, who run and fundraise for UK Foodbanks, report that over 160,000 have relied on the support on foodbanks over the last Christmas holiday. This is yet another increase on last year and colleagues who volunteer for their local banks can corroborate this highly concerning increase in footfall.

Eagle House would like to provide a bulk donation that would aim to deliver by the end of next term and with your support I believe we could make a real impact in supporting our local community. Your son’s/daughter’s tutor room has a Foodbank box in it and we would really appreciate anything you could provide. I have been informed that the following foods are most needed at this time:

Milk (HUT or powdered)  Teabags/instant coffee
Sugar Instant mash potato
Fruit Juice Rice/pasta
Soup Tinned meat/fish
Pasta sauces Tinned vegetables
Tinned tomatoes Tinned fruit
Cereals Jam
Rice pudding Biscuits

That said, anything that you could donate would be most welcomed and greatly appreciated. If your son/daughter could bring in any donations in the morning they will be able to drop them off first thing in their tutor bases.

If you have any additional queries regarding the donations, please do not hesitate to contact me via the email below.

Yours faithfully,

Mr J Harford

Head of Eagle House
